Wanderings

Visiting Israel with my family this week, I captured this image yesterday on the eve of Israel's memorial day of remembrance. The young soldier appears to be stopping for his daily prayer, not an uncommon site, but for my western eye it captured some of the complexity of this region, as well as, my favorite subject matter - two seemingly, opposing thoughts/POV existing together - only this time, my hand of direction was not involved, just the luck of timing.
