Film Noir, Image #1

Film Noir 1-1Film Noir shot in 3 Images

Playing with the film noir genre to create story and image…to be continued…

Images 2 and 3 will be released at a later date…stay tuned.
This was shot in Youngstown, Ohio at my aunt and uncle’s home last year. Their home is fabulously untouched by 5 decades of busy family life – treasure trove.

‘FIRE’, Palappuram, Palakkad, Kerala, India, 2016

FIRE-Group Show, image selected for

In The Moment curated by Olaf Willoughby at Darkroom Gallery in VT

Opening April 28th, 2016 with artist reception May 14, 2016.

This image was taken 2 months ago (February 2016 – my third visit to India in 4 years)  in South India in the Palakkad District of Palapuram. It was on the sidelines of the Chinakkathoor Pooram elephant pageant. This gentleman was just resting off to the side of the festivities and with half a head waggle gave me permission to shoot his portrait. The juxtaposition of his relaxed body language against the red background and FIRE hose begged attention.

Soldier, Jerusalem, 2015

Soldier, Jerusalem, Israel 2015-Wanderings

Visiting Israel with my family this week, I captured this image yesterday on the eve of Israel’s memorial day of remembrance. The young soldier appears to be stopping for his daily prayer, not an uncommon site, but for my western eye it captured some of the complexity of this region, as well as, my favorite subject matter – two seemingly, opposing thoughts/POV existing together – only this time, my hand of direction was not involved, just the luck of timing.
